PRODUCTION FINISHING MANAGER

- PRODUCTION POSITIONS -

    • The Position is responsible for Managing the Cart Line Finishing which includes - Sand blast, Sanding SB items, Hang Line Drawer Line, Washing/ deluxing-Fittings at Rochdale Spears Company Ltd. Plant-2 located at Thanh Phuoc Industrial park

    • Biggest part of its responsibilities is to make sure products shipped from Plant-2 Finishing Cart Line Depts made to highest quality aligned to RSC standards. (namely above)

    • Achieved set shipment forecast each working day or week:

      -Sanding to Sand Blast = 7 containers or $ 177,249 per day w/OT and $129,000 per day w/o OT

      -Primer Sanding = 4.8 containers or $134,500 per week

      -Cart Line and Output Washing = 31containers or $ 1.2M per week (could change w/o notice defend company direction)

      Note-1: Detailed target will also be provided on separate memos and official meetings and it change from to time per directives from the top management.

      Note-2: with the usage Overtime 4 days OT/week only

      Materials:

      It is also expected that materials used to operate the Finishing areas under mentioned responsibilities are utilized to the optimum utilization by establishing clear processes. With the adoption of most known productivity principles like Material management system, Lean production floor, productivity and quality programs, 5'S, BIQC, Kaizen and alike in which programs increase’s the ability to produce with proper utilization of materials and also maintaining high Quality product output.

      Process: Also make sure that process, eg: system sheets are followed, work closely with technical team and always aimed for new things better process, workers friendly application, introduces training to workers enhance skills upgrade. If improvement are taken in place make sure they’re all reflected to the STS, avoiding repetitive problems

      Discipline: Put in a good discipline among the subordinates Finishing team, tighten shop floor Supervision and make sure employees are in there working assignment each time and each day. Maintains cleanliness, Organizing materials through the use of 5'S principle, also must make sure to maintains machine and tools issued from the company to the team.

  • PLANNING:

    1. Work closely with high level of collaboration to internal planning, to make sure loading the automated Line are maximize its cart value ($300/week), the same with other support sections Target are set days ahead

    2. Review and approved internal production schedule aligned to Master Planning schedule from CP… and make sure all Line Supervisor are set to achieve the set Targets

    3. Review with Planning team from time to time, to see white wood stock mainly to support daily requirement throughput

    4. Initiates production meeting among line Supervisor’s giving guidance and the same ear-out issues that need assistance

    5. Instigates and assess group's whom failing to meet expectations/target and put solution and or guidance to the problems

    6. Facilitates goal achievements by minimizing barriers and promoting objective oriented behaviour.

    7. Manage direct and indirect materials, by engaging close collaboration with Materials Planner (constant forecast updating, investigates materials shortage on sections or Dept)

    8. Establish visual management to support, so that from workers, team leaders, and line Supervisor are aware and involve of the set goals/planned

    Eg:

    - Target Monitoring board must be provided + Updated hourly output

    - System sheet should always be accessible to all workers Ø Memo and important announcement should be on the notice board

    - Visual FOP / MCP references should always be the working place audited/updated

    ORGANIZING:

    1. Implement 5'S principle on the shop floor, set a visitor's ready working environment

    2. Make sure key people in production were all their responsibilities are clearly defined and those they understand the task

    3. Establish labeling and visual information to held-up items, stocks, non-moving, urgent items, special work orders and alike

    4. Always refreshes and or inject Supervisors and Team Leaders behavior to arranged by line products that are on hold, to maximize floor space

    5. Encourage small group Leaders and Supervisors on Line-up while heading to time clock either going home or canteen. This is also to establish safety and disciplining among workers

    6. Review all worker skills, set plans for cross training allowing workers to upgrade their skills and pays, same time gain motivated, multi-skilled and flexible workforce.

    7. Always aligned all actions to Budget deciding eg: Overtime (15%) Head counts etc

    QUALITY:

    1. Initiates 5 minutes Quality resolution meeting on the shop floor for those repetitive quality issues and NCR (non-compliance report) then establish permanent solutions.

    2. Recommend to technical department regarding process improvements with regards to machine operation in order to eliminate rework and save time in processing as well as to enhance a safe, economical and easy to process parts that conforms with company quality std.

    3. Attends Quality meeting together with QC/QA Managers discussing Quality performance to each Team and provide make corrective action plans

    4. Initiates a regular audit on PSP (production sample panel) MCP (Master color panel) to Technical Team

    5. Ensure all group follow FOP rules

    6. Attends Finished goods Open Carton box audit

    7. Make sure to emphasis that all subordinates reporting to you owns the Quality not the QC on the shop floor, QC is only a support people, works for us and not against us

    MOTIVATION:

    1. Review all worker skills and plan for cross training to achieved flexibility and multi-skilled workforce.

    2. Listen to employees suggestions and criticism and maintain open channels for handling grievances and complaints

    3. Discourages any action, behaviour or attitude of a team leader suppress or looks out employees freedom of expression on his sentiments about his work, in term of creativity and initiative of employee.

    4. Actively participates and support company sponsored programs. Initiates and encourages subordinates in participating plant wide activities in order to cultivate and mold their personal assets and potential.

    5. Trained / Help Supervisor's on new management approach, ideal Supervisor strategies & skills, execution and discipline on shop floor

    OTHERS:

    1. The incumbent should also inform his superior or manager of any problem may arise outside your control or certain decision or approval beyond your control or limitation.

    2. Possess strong leadership skill, self-starter and pull the crowd to one direction

    3. Does other task given to his/her Superior related to Finishing Management works

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Posses with Strong Management skills a Managerial position 3 years’ experience

    • Process oriented person that establish and put in-place the recommended processes

    • Quality oriented person that can set BIQC to the workforce in Finishing

    • Computer literacy especially Microsoft office

    • Team Player and good communicator to all level of the Organization

    • Has basic knowledge on Material Management

    • Self-starter person, when given clear directions and goals

    Key performance indicators:

    · To make sure weekly target plans each production area achieve giving the process of setting the plans to Supervisor clearly aligned to:

    1. Sanding and Sand Blast = 3.0cont's (70.5k) = 18.0 cont's ($423k)

    2. Off Line Surface prep = 2.15cont's (50.5k) = 12.9cont's ($303.155k) (could change w/o notice defend company direction)

    3. Manage overtime to less than 30% OT each week using the HR report as official measurement

    4. Leads the active participation of 5'S program by making sure Supervisor's adopts House keeping, Organizing working area, Safe working environment, everything in its place to proper discipline are be coming a habit ways of working everyday

    5. Set meeting and working strategy/guidelines on how to execute plans and how to deal possible issues to happen, these requires good leadership and team work effort from Supervisor's down below

    6. Works closely with CP Planning team on strategies and helpful inputs to make production schedule smoothly running and achievable

    7. Personal performance – Observed 5-6 moths planned ahead vacation to direct Superior
